Be Your Own Coach is filled with exercises and practices that you can use to coach yourself. In this section we will continue to offer you more practices to work with the ideas in the book.

If you happen to be a corporate coach, these practices will provide you with alternatives to use in coaching courses you may be teaching using our book. You may also use these practices with your in-house coaching clients.

If you are an independent professional coach, you can use these practices as a supplement to the ones offered in the book.


Choosing the Story You Live In






Coaching practice and questions related to the movie Life as a House.

Coaching Practice:

  1. For the next month, ask yourself this question every day: what would love do? When you are talking with people, look at them with love. How does that shift the way you act towards them? Notice this, and notice how you feel as a result.
  2. When you are not interacting with others, notice the love around you – the sky, trees, shrubs, bees, cats, dogs, grass, flowers, ponds, lakes, rivers, fish, etc … Finding the space of love creates more of it. Practice this for a month and see what shifts for you as a result.
  3. Every day, write down one thing you feel grateful for.
